7 Most Anticipated Korean Dramas of 2021

Entering the new year, a number of Korean dramas are in the spotlight because they are highly anticipated thanks to the storyline or the interesting cast.

Call it Snowdrop, a romance drama starring Jisoo BLACKPINK and Jung Hae-in. There are also Korean dramas with horror and thriller themes, such as All of Us Are Dead.

There is also the second season of the Hospital Playlist series that is awaited because the end of the first season is so much asked.

Here are 7 most anticipated Korean dramas in 2021:

1. Vicenzo

Actor Song Joong Ki is ready to become a mafia in the drama Vincenzo. This drama tells the story of a lawyer and advisor to the Italian mafia named Vincenzo Cassano.

From a young age, he was adopted by a family in Italy. But one day, after a dispute with lawyer Hong Cha-young, Vincenzo decided to return to his hometown, Korea.

Apart from Song Joong-ki, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Taecyeon, this drama also stars Yang Kyung-won, KimYeo-jin, and Kwak Dong-yeon. Vincenzo is scheduled to air on February 20-April 25 2021 on the tvN television channel.

2. Sisyphus: The Myth

Romantic story and full of intrigue presented in Sisyphus: The Myth. This drama tells the story of a genius engineer and founder of a well-known engineering company, Han Tae-sul.

One day, Tae-sul discovers a hidden secret regarding his brother’s sudden death. He decided to find out this truth further. That’s when he met a woman named Seo-hae.

The drama, directed by Jin Hyeok, presents a series of well-known artists as the main characters, namely Cho Seung-woo, Park Shin-hye, and Sung Dong-il. The drama will premiere in February 2021 on the JTBC channel.

3. Mouse

Long time not appearing in public, actor Lee Seung-gi has finally appeared on the small screen through his latest drama in 2021 entitled Mouse. This drama tells the story of Jung Bae-rum, a junior policeman who has to deal with psychopaths.

The mouse presents many challenging action sequences wrapped in a love story. Later this drama will air in March 2021 on the tvN channel.

4. Snowdrop

The Korean drama that carries the situation and life of Korean people in ancient times is present in Snowdrop. This drama tells the story of the love story of a male student who suddenly resides in a female dormitory at Hosu University.
Apart from BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Kim Hye-yoon, this drama will also feature Jung Hae-in, Jang Seung-jo, Yoon Se-ah, and Jung Yoo-jin. Snowdrop will air in May 2021 on the JTBC channel.

5. Hospital Playlist 2

After successfully attracting millions of viewers in the previous season, the story of five doctors who have been friends since medical school in the Hospital Playlist series will continue into the second season.

The second season will reveal more about things that have not been answered in the previous season, including about the career struggles, ambitions and love of the five main players. Apart from presenting the acts of a number of old players, the concept of a medical student band will return.

Hospital Playlist Season 2 will premiere in June 2021 on Netflix.

6. All of Us Are Dead

After the success of Kingdom, a similar series will fill Korean drama slots for 2021, one of which is entitled All of Us are Dead. This series is an adaptation of a popular web cartoon titled Now at Our School.

The series focuses on the experiences of a group of high school students trapped in their school during a zombie virus outbreak. Cheong-San (Yoom Chan-yeong) tries to save the girl he likes, On-jo.

Apart from Yoon Chan-yeong, this drama by Lee Jae-kyu will also star Park Ji-hu, Cho Yi-hyun, Lomon, and Yoo In-soo. The drama will air in June 2021 on the Netflix channel.

7. That Night

That Night is a reproduction of the BBC series Criminal Justice. This drama will tell the story of two men who are involved in a murder case.

Kim Soo-hyun plays Kim Hyun-soo, a student whose life changes as a key witness to the case. Cha Seung-won plays Shin Joong-han, a lawyer and the only person who helps Kim Hyun-soo.

The drama is planned to begin production in the first half of 2021 and premiere in the second half of this year.
